Colour of the week – Lime

This weeks colour is a challenge for me. I say that straight up, as it is not one I would really choose for my home. In saying that, I chose this colour because often as a designer we have to work with styles or colours that are very different to our own personal choices. It is always a bigger challenge than working with what you love, but it’s a very important skill to master and reaps huge rewards when the client loves what has been created. So, with that in mind, I put myself to the challenge and this week our colour is Lime. Take a look at the images…

    Best candle scents for Spring

If there is one thing that spring is sure to bring, it’s fresh flowers and new season fruits. Fresh Strawberries, Blueberries and Pears are among some of my favourite flavours. Likewise I can never resist the smell of fresh Jasmine, Peonies or Tulips. There’s just something about the new lease of life spring brings that is irresistible. While I love to fill my home with fresh flowers, it is simply not practical to have them everywhere. When Spring starts to bloom, I like to switch out my more wintery candles (like Sandalwood or Caramel) for fresh floral or fruity fragrances. With scents like Strawberries and Champagne, these candles below will definitely have you wanting to celebrate the warmer weather…

A Cushy World: Spring Cushion Combinations

Seeing as we are well and truly into spring, I thought it would be fun to share my favourite throw cushions or pillows for the season. Cushions are one of the easiest, most effective and least expensive ways to give a room a new lease of life.  I have my year round cushions of choice – generally neutrals that can tie in with a variety of colours, textures or patterns – but I tend to feel the need to switch up my cushions as the weather changes. Here’s a breakdown of the top five combinations I’m loving for spring: 1. Coral Reef – Left to Right: Big Spot Cushion, Reef Cushion, Textured Cushion 2.…

Happy Friday folks! I don’t know about you but I am pumped for this weekend. It’s finally starting to feel like spring, flowers are blooming & everything (and everyone) seems to be coming back to life. Not only that, but this will be the first weekend in a while that will be social, rather than a renovating weekend – hooray! So before we kick off and get into full sangria mode, here’s what I’ve been loving this week… Vanilla Slice: one of my all time favourites, I’m even going to have a go at making some tomorrow morning. An indoor swing – Just so we can invite friends around to hang out…

    Operation Organise – Bedrooms

Ok, lets be real – this post could easily be taken over by what is often the focus of bedroom organising – wardrobes, but today I’m not even going to go there. In each and every bedroom, there are a couple of other areas that are also important to keep your sacred space organised and looking sharp. Your bedroom should be a sanctuary. It may only be you (and your other half) that sees it, but it’s the first thing you see each morning and last each night so that makes a pretty important space. It should be a place of rest and relaxation and that means, clean, tidy and peaceful. So what are some ways you can get the…

Hip-hip-hooray, the count down is on! We officially have only two weeks left of winter and that means all things bright and beautiful are starting to come out of hibernation. Modern graphics are one trend that has been around for a little while and it is so appropriate for this time of year. Bold stripes, chevron, over-sized spots and the like have been finding their way on to walls, furnishings, rugs and accessories in all the best ways possible. They look incredible in modern homes and (in my humble opinion) even better when softened with classic elements. But, life’s not all about design and interiors, so in true Friday fashion, here’s what I’ve…
